Since August 2024, Jörg Brammeier has been part of the Erwin Quarder Group and has since dedicated himself to his position as Head of Toolmaking. “I was welcomed with open arms, making it easy for me to get started”, he recalls. A solution-oriented team, a high technical standard, and the company's international focus convinced him: “The good interaction and open communication are what define Quarder for me.”
What motivates him daily is primarily teamwork and the challenge of jointly advancing technically complex projects. In his role as a leader, he places particular emphasis on personal responsibility and proactive thinking: “I motivate my employees by encouraging them to actively participate and take responsibility. This not only promotes the quality of work but also the development of each individual.”
He sees flexibility and adaptability as key in a constantly changing work environment. “I accept the demands and try to involve my team as best as possible. An even distribution of work and good organization help us with this.” Daily communication is
an essential component: short morning meetings ensure regular exchange, create transparency, and enable quick reactions to current issues.
The demands in toolmaking are high: adherence to deadlines, precision, and the best technical solution are the daily focus. To ensure the quality of the tools, Jörg Brammeier relies on self-responsibility within the team: “Everyone should independently check their work steps and take responsibility – this sustainably strengthens quality awareness.”
Another important topic is further training: “Our colleagues must technically
“For me, toolmaking means precision, teamwork, and innovation”
stay up-to-date to keep pace with the competition.” He therefore encourages active further training and taking on new challenges.
Looking to the future, he sees major tasks ahead for toolmaking: “Global competition is demanding – we can only succeed with innovation, precision, and high adherence to deadlines.” In the long term, he wants to position his department
so that it continues to act as a reliable service provider for the entire Quarder Group – with a team that stands for quality and whose work is valued.
His advice to young leaders: “Motivate, work as a team, and show enthusiasm for the tasks – that’s contagious and leads to success.”
